$10 from the sale of each charity merch item will be put into the emergency skincare fund. This fund will be used to put together skincare packs that will be distributed to registered charities who will ensure this packs of self care get to those who need it most.
When we launched this fund on 1st of February, we didn't anticipate quite how many emergency skincare packs would be needed within a few weeks. We are putting together skincare packs that will be dispatched directly to those who need them in affected areas.
These skincare packs include;
- Sample size cleanser, toner, moisturiser
- 2 x face cloths
- Lip conditioner
- Scrunchie
- Zip up bag
Skincare is a luxury that people don't often think to donate. Renée has always made an effort to donate toiletries but it wasn't until she had an unexpected stay in the children's ward at Waikato Hospital that she realised how much she would have appreciated the opportunity to wash her face:
"My (almost) two year old snapped her femur at home. We drove to the A&E and from there we were transferred by ambulance to the emergency department and admitted to the ward soon after.
I didn't have time to pack a bag and my husband was an hour away with our newborn. The hospital provided me with a pillow and a toothbrush, and I remember thinking that I would have loved to be able to wash my face and pop on some pyjamas.
The pyjamas are part of the two year plan, but this is me finally actioning the skincare part of the package. There are so many people who I know would benefit from the opportunity to be able to wash away their day when things haven't quite gone to plan.
Thank you in advance for your support x"
